1997-Present: Member
of The New Arch Committee. New Britian, CT.
Assisted in the hiring of a Landscape Architect to produce a comprehensive,
two-phase "Streetscape" design for the Arch Street corridor and
its surrounding neighborhood. Worked with committee, architects,
City Hall, and community at large to develope and implement designs
and to provide guide lines for future development and maintenance.
1994-Present: Vision New Britain, Volunteer. This organization initiated
and consulted on specific economic development, revitalization efforts
for New Britain,CT.
1994-Present: Numerous Lectures and Slide Presentations for elementary-high
schools.
1996-Present: New Britain Architectural Preservation Trust, Volunteer
Involved in saving two historic buildings in town, including The Russell-Erwin
Building - a large late nineteenth century industrial complex currently
being considered for redevelopment as a mixed use arts facility including
residence, museum, studio, and commercial space - and The Porter Building,
a small, but architechturally and historically significant office building.
1997: S.L.A.M., New Britain summer arts program (established by Mayor's
Office), Member of Development Board.
1994-1997: The Greater New Britain Arts Alliance, President and Officer
of the Board
Helped found this community organization and develop the organization's
structure, purpose, and by-laws. Served as organization's first president.
1994-1997: The New Britain Museum of American Art, Volunteer
Member of the Long Range Planning Committee - helped draft the museum's
second long range plan.
Helped develop and booked the music for an outdoor performance series
called, "Cafe in thePark."
1994-1995: The New Britain Landmark Development Board, Member.
